Ammonia emissions are found in a wide range of facilities such as wastewater treatment plants, composting pig houses, well the fertilizer, food and metallurgy industries. Effective management these is important for minimizing detrimental effects they can have on health environment. Physical-chemical (thermal oxidation, absorption, catalytic etc.) treatments most common techniques abatement ammonia emissions. However, requirement more eco-friendly has increased interest biological alternatives. Accordingly, several bio-based process configurations (biofilters, biotrickling filters bioscrubbers) been reported spectrum conditions. Due to highly soluble compound, bioscrubber seems be best option abatement. this technology still not widely studied.
